THE OCEAN

Like a child you fell in love


you gave him everything


you could give


Before him you were


simply a boat without water


but when he came into your life


you finally had a purpose


for he was the ocean


with much more water


than you had even hoped for


And in this ocean


there were high tides


Waves reaching all the way to the sky


He made you feel like you could fly


your head was in the clouds


You couldn't see


how much of a fall this could be


And in this ocean


then there were the low tides


when all the waves of reality


came crashing down


but he will catch me, he will save me!


Do not be so niave.


quickly the tides come in


quickly they disapear


It's all over now.


The ocean is gone


Your boat is destroyed


There is no hope


There is nothing left


But the truth is


he was not the ocean


but simply a tiny bit of water


that made up the great big sea


And your boat


that has been destroyed,


forever broken.


One day you will realize you never


needed a boat to travel the sea


You only needed that boat to


protect you from the ice cold water


One day you will realize


the tides come and go


but never will you run out of water


when the ocean comes to you
